Welcome back to the Wordplay 10 Questions. As ever we will be keeping it light, allowing our guests to expand on their answers as much as their time allowed. This week, we have one of Wordplay’s favourite lyricists Oracy telling us a little more about how she got her foot in the door!…
 1) Contestant, what’s your name, chosen craft and where are you based?
Oracy, noun: the ability to express oneself fluently and grammatically in speech. I’m a rapper from Wolftown but i’m now getting my lioness on in the concrete jungle of London.
2) How would you describe your sound?
3) Who / what do you consider to be the biggest influence on your music?
My primal desire to express myself, my life experiences, surroundings and the consequential feelings that follow. Great production often sparks ideas and influence’s the vibe or topic of each track.

4) What’s the proudest moment to date for you as an artist?
Having Life MC feature on my debut album. It’s a great feeling to listen to Life MC’s verse in between my own.  I’ve been listening to him since a tween.
5) Do you have any advice for our readers who maybe trying to play the mad game of music?
Put in the legwork and don’t believe in false entitlement. Keep your circle genuine. Remember to keep it fun and understand that nobody will take your dreams as seriously as you do.

6) Name 3 people you would love to work with and why?
Chester P
is one of the first UK rappers i ever heard. I loved his style and as I’ve matured I’ve grown to respect the man as well as his music. He’s still so essential and influential.
Mystro is another kickstarter in my hip hip appreciation. His charisma is awesome and he keeps bringing fresh food to the party. He was one of the first ever rappers to get back to me with some feedback to and i appreciate that greatly.
Rodney P. Not just for being a stamina legend but for being original and genuine the entire time. 100% pressed, not from concentrate.
I was really indecisive and this list changed 3 times.
7) What have you got planned for the not so distant future?
My next album Suttin Dubby will be dropping in the new year. It’s a different sound to my first release Foot In The Door. It covers the dub spectrum from reggae, dubstep, jungle to …  ‘animal beat’ (which i just invented but i think it works!).
8) What’s the album you’ve played more than any other?
Another close call but i’d say, consistency wise, Falling Down by Jehst. I don’t think a week has passed in the last 15 years that i haven’t listened to at least one track off that album.

9) What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? And where?
I’ve been to so many awesome and quirky events, boat, squat, block and free party’s but i have to big up Breakin Convention Park Jam, Spa Fields Park, London. A true hip hop day and essential annual event.

10) Name 3 things you can’t live without?
Love. Laughs. Libido
Lastly, can you nominate another contestant and provide us with a question for them on your behalf?
Loyle Carner. What movie best represents your sound and why?
Any last words/shoutouts?
A huge shout out to everyone that has been genuine and supporting me along the way. The scene is full of love and has definetely become my surrogate family. One Love!
