babyhead-430HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE!!!
We hope you had a good, wavey, messy NYE, and we want to start the new year with a bang!

Bristol based live hip-hop juggernauts Babyhead are getting ready to drop their fourth studio album Stage Invasion in March 2016. To get ready for the release the 15 year strong band have enlisted the help of one of Wordplay’s favourites, Dr.Syntax for a tongue in cheek track as a nod to all the soundmen who are the unsung heroes of the live scene.
Babyhead Soundman PosterWe asked Mancub, the bands frontman, how the track came about:
“Watch The Soundman started life with a tenor saw sample and sample from a track by Stepchild called Great Western Way..It sparked my verse which is an open love letter to all the sound engineers i have crossed swords with. I sent Syntax the track and my verse at 10am and by midnight that night he had sent me back a killer comeback verse fighting for the rights of all underpaid overworked sound engineers”.

The track is available as a free download on Cookie Cutter Records from today from the band’s Bandcamp:

Over the coming weeks we’ll be introducing the band to you guys, but to get you in the mood, and without further a do, here’s the WORDPLAY EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE of Babyhead vs. Syntax with Watch The Soundman. ENJOY!
