This Saturday 19th November, Scala will open its doors to the highest caliber of vocal percussionists you will set eyes on in the UK (and beyond for that matter!). For the 11th year running, the insatiable annual UK Beatbox Championships is back – bigger and better than ever (if you can believe it).

The eliminations and under 18 competition in Bristol in early October was a glorious taster for the titanic London finals edition which will involve fiery solo, team and loop battles.

If last year was any indication, this exhilarating evening is not one to be missed whether you are a seasoned beatboxer or simply a fan of the skill. Their 10th year anniversary undeniably solidified UKBC as the most prominent event in the UK underground music calendar, with 1000 attendees and a live stream reaching 91 countries.

This year, throwing up tongue twisters alongside the competitors will be performers from the most respected echelons of the UK Hip Hop and Bass scene.

Dirty Dike
The High Focus Records rapper has been redefining UK Hip Hop as we know it since the 2008 release of his debut solo album ‘Bogies and Alcohol’. Since then he’s been seen to join forces with the like of Jam Baxter, Fliptrix and Chester P to name a few, and now with four albums under his belt the wordsmith will be stepping up to center stage with his usual raw and filthy flow.

Alix Perez
This Belgian born beat maker has cemented his position over the years in the heights of the DnB hierarchy as one of the most pioneering producers of his time. His set will most definitely be one to watch as he wows the crowd with his wavey signature sounds.

Chimpo & Skittles
The two fiercely talented members of the Mancunian collective LEVELZ will no doubt inject the space with some of the dirtiest and riotous bars the crew is notoriously famous and loved for.

The Beatbox Collective
We’ll be lucky enough to witness a live performance by these reigning world team champions who dominated Edinburgh Fringe earlier this year.

Tom Thum
A beatboxing machine – Tom Thum will be pushing the boundaries of the instrument that is the human voice in a sensational live performance.

This inimitable night is brought to you by 5th Element Agency and Lyrix Organix, in partnership with Relentless. Nordoff Robbins (UK’s leading musical therapy charity) will also be lending its support with a raffle, helping to cultivate a link between music and teaching.

DJs: Sammy B Side and Boba Fatt

Hosts: Too Many Ts and Natty Speaks

Judges: Alem (2015 World Champion), Pe4enkata (World Female Champion), Tom Thum.

EVENT: 6pm – 4am
