PREMIERE: Conscious Route & True Note - Lost Routes LP

Edinburgh-based emcee, Conscious Route returns with his first solo album since 2016 and there’s no half measures as he teams up with producer True Note to deliver a 20-track ensemble, spanning a broad spectrum of genres.

Starting as he means to go on, Conscious Route, gets straight to business with an electronic style beat that sets the energy level and expectations for the rest of the album sky high. He doesn’t disappoint as he effortlessly traverses a diverse soundscape, skilfully crafted by True Note.

Throughout the album there is a consistent, futuristic sound and a recurring image of a not too distant, dystopian state, casually bouncing from scene to scene as we move through the tracks. This combined with the hard hitting rhymes schemes and thought provoking lyrics from Conscious Route, gives you a well polished body of work to satisfy any pallet.

There’s a real depth of knowledge from this album as it tackles a lot of relevant subjects, providing an accurate commentary of this evermore politically charged environment we find ourselves in. This is not a project you want to miss!

The album is due out on the 20th of October but in the meantime, here at Wordplay, we’ve been lucky enough to premiere his brand new track, ‘Needles’, directed by Andrew MacKenzie.
