JOSHUi - Shine Bright (EP)

Manchester-born MC and producer JOSHUi returns with his energetic new EP ‘Shine Bright’, out on the 27th November.

Although grime at its core, ‘Shine Bright’ is a mix of sounds and inspirations that puts JOSHUi in his own lane. The icy opener ‘Sonshine’ kicks off the EP with a ghostly synth pattern and choppy beat that sets the vibe for what’s to come. ‘Pieces’ slows things down a notch and features a soulful chorus from East London singer Vanessa Jamie, who acts as the perfect accompaniment to JOSHUi’s reflective bars over a thundering bass. ‘Meaning’ encapsulates JOSHUi’s aim as an artist, which is for his music to have a message, injecting some much needed positivity as he raps “every breath we take is a blessing, and then every ‘L’ we take is a lesson.”
