“The Damn Straights“ is a collaborative project between Lack of Afro and emcee Herbal T. Around four years they we travelled to NYC and recorded a load of tracks at Studio G in Brooklyn. Four years later, after other projects, having kids and worldwide pandemics got in the way, they are finally good to go!”.

Herbal T, the twin brother of emcee Wax (the rhymer on Lack of Afro’s ‘You Could Do Better’) and a collaborator with Kazahaya on Breakin’ Bread, takes a canny yet damning, clear-as-day look at the current age of information and intrusion in an everyman stream of consciousness, to a driving, crunchy rock-funk jam brought to a crescendo by a rallying hook that lights the touch paper.
