Kaleem Taylor - She Knew (EP)

Hailing from Hertfordshire comes Kaleem Taylor with his latest EP 'She Knows'. He has managed to combine old school R&B vocals with modern soul, in a delicious way.

'Distant love' paints a picture of regret of a lover. 'In a perfect world I'd be here with you'. With the song only being 1.41 I can feel a sense of I want to say more about this but it's painful.

'Until' speaking about the vulnerability of love and the cost. If you don't remember all the words he wants 'until my heart stops beating' to stand out. With flawless runs and beautiful falsetto moments add to the vulnerability of this track.

'She knew' the title track speaks of hiding your truth. I think so often men feel they have to hide their emotions of sensitivity and sadness etc. The lyrics 'telling everyone I'm okay, I'm not okay' really hit me. I really commend Kaleem for being so honest, all up in his feelings and open in this track. I'm hoping by showing this example that it really is okay not to be okay, we are all human. In this case of the song she knew that something was wrong, and he couldn’t hide things from her.

'Feel' is classic beautiful slow jam giving us all the lovers imagery but with a trap beat.

'Everyday' speaks about reminiscing about a lover that he has lost. Feeling hopefully that he might get her back one day

'Questions' speaks about two lovers questioning and contemplating splitting up both realising it’s not going to work. The lyrics 'Just because I love you, you love me doesn't me that we're meant to be together'

'I Understand' speaks about worth in a relationship. The vocals are a bit more gritty in the chorus, emoting the pain that has been caused. The bass more prominent giving the overall track a darker tone.
