Alfa Mist: Confliction (Mini Documentary)

A new short-form documentary, follows the journey of a song by acclaimed jazz/hip-hop artist Alfa Mist, as he re-imagines a previously lost composition entitled ‘Confliction’. The film was produced by Spitfire Audio and directed by Harry Barber, whose credits include Kano’s recent documentary ‘Hoodies All Summer’.

Last year, Alfa Mist began creating a new composition in his bedroom, only to find shortly afterwards that all the files had disappeared; they had been permanently deleted and the track was lost. He set about recreating the track and began collaborating with creative directors Hugh Brunt & Robert Ames, who worked closely with Alfa and the London Contemporary Orchestra to bring his track into an orchestral world - new territory for Alfa, who has no musical training in composing or arranging music for an orchestra. Orchestrator and conductor Uèle Lamore helped translate the song to sheet music, and the resulting track, ‘Confliction’, was complete.
