PREMIERE: Joshua Luke Smith - Meaningless

Given everything that’s going on in the world right now, it’s a great feeling to be able to provide a little uplifting reflection. Taken from the second instalment of his Beats & Pieces mixtape series which drops tomorrow, we’re bringing you an early listen to one of Joshua Luke Smith’s latest offerings, Meaningless.

The mixtape was put together in just under a month, with the material itself written during an unquestionably full-on four-day period in hospital where his pregnant wife underwent an unexpected operation at the same time his Dad was receiving Cancer removal surgery. Whilst an understandably challenging period, Joshua used the events to look both internally and externally and the resulting product is both beautiful and thought inducing.

As for Meaningless, we could dissect the track in detail but it’s summarised perfectly in the chorus “…lIfe is absurd, it’s ridiculous/ oh just to live, what a gift it is”.
