Jords - Black & Ready
Croydon artist Jords wants his music to help a whole generation of young people from the inner cities process their pain. The rapper and producer unveiled his potent debut album Almost An Adult earlier this year. An intensely personal project, Jords combines clever lyrics with raw emotion and thought-provoking concepts. AAA slides between conscious rap, atmospheric trap and sun-dapped afrobeats and is an amalgamation of years of Jords’ hard work and dedication to his craft.
From releasing his first singles in 2016 to now, Jords has developed his production and songwriting skills from his bedroom studio. Jords’ natural empathy and talent for creating music that pierces through the bullshit and touches you in the heart has seen him gain props from the likes of Mistajam, Julie Adenuga, DJ Target, Dotty, CLASH, Complex UK, Dummy Mag, GUAP, Nation of Billions, TRENCH, RWD, GRM Daily and Link Up.
More on The Black Curriculum | https://www.theblackcurriculum.com/
The Black Curriculum is a social enterprise founded in 2019 by young people to address the lack of Black British history in the UK Curriculum. They believe that by delivering arts focused Black history programmes, providing teacher training and campaigning through mobilising young people, they can facilitate social change. Their programmes are for all young people aged 8-16 and aim to equip young people with a sense of identity, and the tools for a diverse landscape. They are working towards changing the national curriculum and building a sense of identity in every young person in the UK.
