Dale May - Smoking In Darkness (Single)

London, October 2021: Dale May – a rapper, singer, songwriter from Milton Keynes - releases his brand new single, “Smoking in Darkness”. This is the first single from his “Locked Down Stocked Up” mixtape; a raw hip hop project born during the lock down period of Covid-19.

Dale describes the project and influences:“For most people the shock of being forced to stay inside had some negative impacts. I started to recognise that my routine and general motivation was running low on the daily, and that I had to do something to change it. That was when I flipped it in my mind realising that from a creatives point of view I had a lot on my mind about the current goings on and also I’ll likely never have this freedom and flexibility to create again“

The themes of the project are resilience, determination, corruption, social and political commentary. He touches on the highs and lows of love, as well as the ups and the downs of life. Through conscious commentary, vulnerable and candid lyricism, Dale brings this relatable content to life.
