Nutnice - 10 Questions
Hailing from West London, Nutnice is a rapidly rising star within the UK music scene. Delivering a unique sonic style to his fans, his multi-dimensional sound is inspired by the likes of Lil Wayne, Drake, Lil Durk, Roddy Rich, Santan Dave, Chipmunk and many others.
Only embarking on his musical journey two years ago, Nutnice has already found his place with his emphatic wave/drill sound. Receiving his first radio play in 2021, his track ‘Liberties’ was spun by DJ Ellie Prohan on Kiss FM Nights. Navigating the pandemic and finding time to get into the studio, Nutnice is set to release a new EP in January 2022 called ‘Alpha Ego’, featuring a handful of collaborations. Getting support from all the right places, Nutnice is just warming up.
Nutnice sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
So it all begun when I was in my youth say 13 years of age, fell in love with the UK grime scene. Dizzee Rascal was my favourite a track called “I love you”.
My second favourite inspiration was a group called So Solid. These was the moments when music really gelled with me and I even started to write my own.
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
Current artist that influence me is Lil Durk, Roddy Rich, Giggs, Future, Chipmunk, Drake & D Block Europe.
All these artist inspire me in different ways some with there talent, some with there success in the game and there journey to get there.
In the future I would love to collaborate with Lil Durk & Drake that would be amazing as I rate them both highly with talent.
3. What are some of the problems you have faced making and releasing the music during the corona virus pandemic?
It was actually hard trying to focus on music during the pandemic, it wasn’t hard to write music as I had a lot of time on my hands but a problem was getting it recorded as lockdown and social distancing was in place. I started to focus more on the pandemic rather than myself which slowed me down in growth, I did manage to shoot a music video to a track the was pre made (Brake It Down) which was a positive step.
4. How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as a work of art, it’s authentic. Everything I push is wavey it’s got a unique feel makes you wanna listen, I try my best to keep your ears plugged in, I don’t want my song skipped.
5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
My proudest moment was this year early 2021 during lockdown my song “Liberties” was played on Kiss Nights FM, DJ Ellie Prohan played my track worldwide.
6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?
My advice to anyone doing music is find a gap in the sound market and fill it use your skill in a different way. Everyone is copying each other, so be different, that’s what will make you get noticed.
7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?
My boy Sol C

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?
I’m spinning The Voice Of The Heroes Album from Lil Durk it’s the movement for me right now, I can’t get enough.
9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?
I like to explore new places travelling, I like clothes shopping, restaurants, and I like training in the gym. I’m mostly gaining 5 days a week.
10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?
Good engineer, good mic and soundproof.
