Alizée - Girls & Rhythm (EP)

Hailing from Sydney, Australia is Alizée (pronounced Alizay) releasing her first project of this year Girls & Rhythm. The EP is a mixture of Neo Soul, R&B and Dream Pop elements.

Kicking off the EP is ‘Drive away’ the instrumentation has vintage dream pop elements mixture with neo-soul and is produced by Lemonah haling from Florida. ‘Why are you wasting all this time’ she sings about getting away from a relationship.

The third track is ‘Lovely Honey’ with silky smooth instrumentation. A lyric that stuck out to me was ‘I got a lot to learn’ even though this can seem blissful. This track has an element of self reflection which I am sure we can all relate to, but more specifically that feeling of being inadequate.

The fourth track ‘Routine’ is through and through neo-soul and its a beauty produced by SYNC.EXE the single from the EP. With a yummy bass-line I can visual a few people doing bass-face to this track. The hook ‘routine is what I love’ we as humans are creatures of habit.

Listen to the rest of the EP below, can’t wait to hear what else she has in store.
