A South London native, penned as a rapper, DJ + producer Shaun Sky. Experimenting with different genres; merging sonics and fusing sounds seamlessly, simply as his own therapy and from that his latest single ‘candles’ was birthed.
A laid-back and stripped hip-hop inspired production by Temesgen .His rapping flowing like water over this track, which portrays soulful and jazzy instrumentation. Taking you from one place to another with music as the vessel, subconsciously mixes nostalgic beats with current rhythms.
Speaking on the track Shaun says “candles is a celebratory daydream, consisting of two alternative realities of adulting in London. Cousins who grew up in the same environment negotiate through the hustle of life differently. There is a sense of protective assertiveness, but delving deeper it is supercharged and encouraging, addressing forceful entry into the scene with pure love and vibes.”
