Vague Detail sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me how did it all begin, what sparked your passion for music and how would you describe your sound?
For me, I always had music being played around the house and I’d try to sing along to whatever I heard, but more like trying to mimic what I heard. Long story short, after all those influences I would just be singing random things around my friends and it’s those same friends that convinced me to start making my own songs. We did that and then the passion for it really kicked in. I would describe the sound as honest, free, feelings and personal.
2. What are some of the problems you have faced making and releasing the music during the coronavirus pandemic?
To be honest, it’s been a good time for me creatively. There’s been a lot of time for reflection and it’s helped me put certain personal topics into the music.
3. Who/what do you consider to be the biggest influence on your music?
Influences range from Stevie Wonder to Anita Baker to Lauryn Hill. There’s too many to mention, they’ve all played the part in getting me to this point.
4. What’s the proudest moment to date for you as an artist?
It’s hard to say the proudest but one of them would be finishing my first EP. It was very personal and it took me out the dark place I was in creatively.
