Simon says The “Badland" video was inspired by the feeling of solitude, and the contrast between the stillness of solitude and the escape from it. Inspired by surreal images such as the paintings of Quint Buchholz and images of liminal spaces, the video explores what it really means to be alone if you have your phone with you.

The video inspiration comes as a development from Simon’s thinking behind the track; Simon says “Badland” is a reflective piece on the digital world and the ease in which we can fall into the trappings of online personas; told from the perspective of an influencer, it breaks down into 3 separate stages of their influencer career.
