Lebbs - Self Assured (Official Video)

A few months back when Lebbs dropped his well-received debut solo single ‘Right One’, the track came as a surprise to fans of his work as part of boisterous hip hop duo PROSPECTS. The new output showed a more neo-soul informed sound fused to the mastery of flow that listeners were familiar with. Keeping heads guessing, next offering ‘Too Much’ rode a banging sub-bass into wavy, trap influenced territory. With all this variation, pinning down where young Lebbs is currently at as an artist in 2021 has so far been difficult. In a way, third single ‘Self Assured’ is the grand reveal.

It’s highly likely that by next year the multi-instrumentalist, producer and lyricist will be heading down a different musical rabbit hole entirely. In the present though, Lebbs has been drawing heavily on soulful, jazzy elements to create compositions with more live instrumentation and room for infectious vocal melodies to shine. ‘Self Assured’ epitomises this approach which resonates through his debut project 6-5-Heaven, coming June 18th on Brain Scran Records.
