Following her first single release of the year with the captivating mid-tempo ballad “Moment Of Time”, rising songstress Alana Soul now unveils the ‘Love In London’ EP alongside fun visuals for the  single “Issues”.

Acting as the lead single for the project, “Issues” perfectly sets the tone for what is in store throughout, with new offerings and previously released “Moment In Time” and “I Need You” all playing a part in depicting the R’n’B artist’s love story for her city. Taking to the dance studio with her girls in tow, the laid back, playful visuals add to the good-natured premise of the track, with a sing-a-long vibe also included for listeners to get involved.

Alana sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

So I started singing when I was seven years old. I was always in love with music so it was a natural thing for me. As I got older I realised it’s something I wanted to do. I would definitely say that it was my mum always playing music that definitely sparked my love for music. I also felt it was just a way for me to express my emotions.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

I would definitely say SZA. She is such an amazing songwriter, which I am also passionate about, so I would love to work with her. I would also love to work with Daniel Caesar and I would say I am influenced by Amy Winehouse and Sia.

3. What are some of the problems you have faced making and releasing the music during the corona virus pandemic?

I would say it has not affected me in terms of releasing. Mainly filming music videos as there were so many restrictions in place.

4. How would you describe your sound?

I would say I have a very unique and powerful voice. I would also say I have a very jazzy tone.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

I would say the release of my first project 'Love In London'. That was an amazing day for me and probably the best moment of my career. I would also say filming my first music video.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

Yes definitely. Be yourself, don’t try and be anybody else. Don’t be afraid to be creative and enjoy the process.

7. Are there any artists on your radar at the moment that we should check out?

Yes definitely. I feel UK RNB is going in an amazing direction, so some of the artists I would say to check out would be Bellah. I really love Shaybo, amazing female rapper and really all the UK R’N’B singers coming up. It’s great to see.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

I love Reggae music so Chronixx's album 'Chronology' is the only full project I have ever listened to. So inspiring.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

I love going to the gym, I’m a bit of a fitness addict. I also love meditation and long distance running, so when I’m not making music I’m very active. I’m also very much into mental well-being so I listen to a lot of motivational podcasts, testimonials etc.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

Okay, so food for sure, my phone so I can record melodies and comfy shoes.
