PREMIERE: ROY ROY - TTKW (Official Video)
Leeds based duo ROY ROY have illustrated their world wonderfully with a lucid animated music video - created by Sunny Hawthorn Geffin - for you to take a ride through. Delightfully surreal, melancholy and coated in purple hues, the music video for 'TTKW' depicts a lonesome late night train journey "to nowhere".
This cartoon version of Max (1/2 of the ROY ROY duo) is seemingly the only human left in this world, smoking cigarettes and gazing longingly out the train window into a magical wasteland of mountains, ruins and a talking moon. The song this video is painting itself around is 'TTKW', the opening track from ROY ROY'S Debut EP 'SWEET N SOUR', which was released last month and sees the duo confidently explore their colourful and drunken soundscapes.
Lush jazz guitar and trip-hoppy beats create backdrops for hushed spoken-word tales and melodies, which feel like you're eaves dropping on an intimate chat between the two lads in a downbeat pub. ROY ROY are so raw and youthful, oozing a sense of freedom, menace and charisma that grabs you by your collar and pulls you into their world - a world full of sprawling concrete, flickering streetlights, buzz cuts, cheap lager and warped guitars and synths.
