Emmavie - Uh Huh Okay (Single)
As the latest release from the London based producer, singer-songwriter, and DJ Emmavie, ‘Uh Huh Okay’ is a flirtatious R&B track with expertly crafted rhythmic percussion, soulful guitar, and a bass line to get your head moving, all lead by Emmavie’s expressive lyrics which she explains as “Teases my love interest by painting romantic images with playful and tongue-in-cheek lyrics.” Produced by ROMderful, ‘Uh Huh Okay‘ is the first single off of the North-West Londoner’s upcoming EP, to be released on the 30th July.
Since the release of her 2019 self-produced album ‘Honeymoon’, Emmavie has been praised by world-renowned DJ and Producer DJ Jazzy Jeff, Hip-Hop legend Phonte, and acting superstar Idris Elba. Since the album, Emmavie has seen a string of releases, working with the all-female international collective, Her Songs to release two collaborative EP’s, a joint EP with Hungarian live band and DJ collective Solqlap Budapest, and a joint project with highly acclaimed London jazz musician, rapper and composer Alfa Mist. As well as featuring and producing for a handful of UK and international artists on top of this.
Emmavie’s music has also hit the big screen, with her music featuring on the critically acclaimed series ‘I May Destroy You’ starring Michaela Coel, the HBO/BBC series ‘Batwoman’ as well as Oprah Winfrey’s network series ‘Queen Sugar’.
Alongside the single, comes the new music video for ‘Uh Huh Okay’ which perfectly encapsulates the message and tone on the song, playing into the flirty and fun vibe that it creates, using creative cinematography and colourful scenery to catch the viewers’ attention, and keep them coming back for more.
