A year ago today we very sadly and unexpectedly lost a steadfast community pillar and we’re still reeling from it. Joseph Downes, better known to many by Joey Deez, was a rock for the music scene through Village Live Records and is sorely missed. Anyone who had the fortune of meeting Joey said the same thing, that his passion for hip hop and the culture was inspiring and infectious!

As a means of celebrating Joey’s life and huge contributions to the music scene, Village Live Records have launched the Joey Deez Collection – a charitable compilation of releases wherein profits go directly to youth focussed music projects (with updates throughout the year). Go and help continue Joey’s legacy!
