James Vickery - Songs That Made Me Feel (Album)
After an incredible run of form that saw him deliver the highly-praised Maths Time Joy-produced single ‘Somewhere, Out There’, Musiq Soulchild collaboration ‘Come To Me’, seductive offering ‘Hourglass’, the vibrant ‘You Comfort Me’ ft. EARTHGANG, and recent SG Lewis-produced gem ‘Finally’ in recent months, which received plaudits from the likes of BILLBOARD, Wonderland, NOTION, Okay Player, CLASH, Earmilk, Under The Radar, and Hip Hop DX, the fast-rising male face to the UK’s R&B scene James Vickery has now released his highly-anticipated debut album ‘Songs That Made Me Feel’ alongside the stunning new single ‘Save You’.
While known for his rich and passionate guise, ‘Save You’ sees him take a departure from his usual direction and deliver a raw and heartfelt ode to an old friend. Keeping much of his usual warm and sweeping demeanor, the subject matter behind this offering strikes far closer to home than he is used to, and results in one of the most intimate and heart wrenching cuts on his debut collection. “People think it’s a love song,” Vickery says. “But it’s about a boy I knew when I was at school.”
