Fox - Squang Dangs In The Key Of Vibes (Album)

Manchester-born, Kingston-bred MC Fox has unveiled new album Squang Dangs In The Key Of Vibes, out now on critically acclaimed imprint The North Quarter.

A twelve-track release, Squang Dangs In The Key Of Vibes is punctuated by Fox’s colourful lyricism, channeling energy from a wide range of influences that include jazz, dub music and MC culture.

Opening things up with ‘Just Chillin’’ finds Fox in soulful form as he delivers smooth vocals amidst lucid bars from Manchester MC Blind MIC, before the vibrant percussion of ‘It’s Time’ sees Fox shift towards more rugged patois vocals. Next up is the most recent single ‘Sunshine Blues’, a refined D&B jam featuring [ K S R ]’s soul-drenched vocals, and ‘Paper Weights’, a jazz-infused jam produced by the legendary Calibre.

‘Empty Promises’, featuring neo-soul/R'n'B outfit Lovescene, is the LP’s most melodic offering, ‘Lion Ting’ is a stunning piano-led jam creation by The North Quarter head honcho Lenzman, while ‘The Shine’ is a poignant D&B cut with Fox in full MC mode.
