IMOGEN has revealed her striking new single ‘Lioncub’. It’s the latest glimpse from her forthcoming EP ‘Bloodbag’ which charts her journey from infirmity to empowerment.

If lead single ‘Bloodbag’ homed in on the mind and the body, then ‘Lioncub’ speaks to the darker quiet corners of the soul. Written after she had just left home for London, IMOGEN felt on the edge of an identity-less vacuum, her foundations crumbling around her. By using playful, storybook imagery such as the sun, and the jungle book, against drastic unanswerable questions, she uses Lioncub to represent the jarring loss of innocence she once felt.

Adding electrifying synths and dramatic strings to her piano-led template, IMOGEN felt strangely calmed upon revisiting the final recording for this EP. The wizened, deep vocal represented a guiding light to the once frightened child within.
