Chiedu Oraka - Ave Life EP (EP)

Northern Grime pioneer, Chiedu Oraka drops his long-awaited 7-track EP, ‘Ave Life’ now.

Prolific Hull rapper, Chiedu Oraka has been steadily building his empire over the last few years. Versatile, emotive and formidable, ‘Ave Life’ can be described as a journey. With 7 carefully-curated tracks, Chiedu defines the Northern Black experience in his music; a call to those who’ve fought their way to be heard. Each track providing an unrestrained narrative of strength and determination.

‘Ave Life’ is a memoir which demands attention. Beginning with the stately, ‘Chatty Patty’, the EP jumps straight into, ‘Helly Hansen 4’; the latest in Chiedu’s nostalgic freestyle series and self-confessed form of therapy. ‘Outlaws’ is next on the tracklist, raw, bold and unflinching, a perfect precursor to ‘Foot Off The Gas’ and ‘The Trials And Tribulations Of C.E.O’, the latter an emotive retelling of Chiedu’s own difficult journey, a fierce reminder of how far he’s come. The EP moves into, ‘Ave Life’, a track that showcases Chiedu’s softer approach and pays homage to his council-estate upbringing. Rounding off the EP is undeniable rap anthem, ‘G Finger’. Haunting chords, fierce lyrics and a heavy bassline makes this a perfect finale to Chiedu’s story.
