Hailing from Sydney, Australia is ‘honey’ also goes by the alias Alizée (pronounced Alizay) releasing her new EP ‘Dazed’. The EP is a mixture of Neo Soul with Dream Pop elements.
Fake Friends is filled with neo-soul goodness with a yummy bass-line over honey’s luscious airy vocals. She sings: ‘Is it all a lie? Is it all just for show? What do they mean?’
As we get older we realise that we don’t have to be friends with everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. It seems in these lyrics honey is asking questions that you might have come across when you are debating whether the friendship you have is healthy or toxic. I think if you are asking yourselves these questions constantly then maybe just maybe it might be a problem.
Fools in Gold is a more uptempo neo-soul track with beautiful jazzy elements and hints of chill-hop. Definitely one to listen to with the open fire burning outside or sitting on train with a long journey ahead.
