Glasgow Hip Hop artist Subkonsious just released his long-awaited debut single ‘Blessings’. This incredibly encapsulating video was captured and edited by visual mastermind, Tim Currie

The concept for the track centres around Subkonsious mourning a past version of himself, having to say goodbye to an old part of his life after losing his fellow Deadsoundz crew member and best friend Lumo, who unfortunately went on his own terms in 2017.

"It was the death of the old me and the birth of a whole new version of myself."

The song deals with the artists mental health struggles in the years since that happened and how it affected his rap crew and friendship group. Production wise, the track is technically the best thing that he has ever made - and the video, with DOP Steve Cardno on board, steps up to match.

The video stars rising Glasgow director and impressive actor, James Price and was shot in Glasgow's impressive Assumption Studios - a converted Catholic church, very fitting for the theme of the video.

The video was produced by Tim's sister Hannah, a BAFTA Award-winning documentary filmmaker, whose first film Lumo: Too Young To Die told the story of Lumo's life and death and featured SubKonsious and his fellow Deadsoundz crewmates.

The track will be available on all major streaming platforms from 7th August but you can catch the music video right here, right now…
