GiddyGang ft: Vuyo - Told Me (Official Video)

Rising genre-bending six-piece ensemble GiddyGang teams up with Vuyo - one of Norway’s most exciting new MC’s on what is the second cut from their upcoming EP.

Oslo-based GiddyGang are friends and collaborators with the band centred around engaged couple Sarah Nærø Pettersen (vocals) and Sigmund Vestrheim (drums) along with members, Bård Kristian Kylland (keys), Kevin Andersen (guitar) and Martin Stapnes (bass). As a young collective of beatmakers, songwriters and session musicians GiddyGang’s members have been building hype through their involvement with globally successful Norwegian acts like boy pablo and Ivan Ave.

Drawing inspiration from legendary beatmakers like J Dilla and modern ensembles like Butcher Brown as well as artists like Mac Ayers - GiddyGang blend hip-hop, jazz, R&B and indie for a sound that is warm, nostalgic and fresh all at once. With a strong DIY heavy ethos, the group started as a lo-fi collaboration and creative collective based in Oslo. Naturally gifted performers, with an energetic live presence, the magnetic five-piece thrive in the live setting. This giddy and excitable vitality is what helped coin their name ‘GiddyGang’.

South-African/Norwegian MC Vuyo has recently gained widespread critical attention with his collaborative LP ‘Dialogue’ with Ol’Burger Beats Jakarta Records. Having caught the attention of the likes of Pitchfork, he is making a name for himself as an accomplished lyricist who brings out the best in languid jazz-rap production.
