Offica - 10 Questions + Tour Announcement

Irish drill talent Offica has announced details of his maiden headline tour of the UK and Ireland, kicking off later this year.

The Drogheda-born artist will play ten show across October and November, kicking things off in Galway (Monroes Live, 1st Oct) before taking in shows in Belfast (Limelight 2, 15th Oct), London (XOYO, 13th Nov), Manchester (Club Academy, 16th Nov), Glasgow (Classic Grand, 18th Nov) and more. Support will come from his fellow A92 members K Sav, D Bo, DT, Andre Pazzaa and Nick Kebs.

Utilising a unique blend of Irish and Yoruba slang and exhibiting his culture and identity across his music, Offica burst onto the scene in 2019 with the acclaimed ‘Naruto Drillings’. He has since collaborated with the likes of KSI, Fizzler, Blanco and Skengdo x AM, as well as breaking into the charts globally with A92 crew cut ‘Plugged In’, and following that up with the and Anime referencing ‘Orbito’ in May, proving to be an overnight success as it hit 100K views in just 17 hours. Having amassed 100 million streams across all platforms - the 21 year old is leading the way for a new generation of Irish-Nigerian artists emerging from the migration of West Africans to the country.

Offica sat down with Wordplay Magazine t answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

I really started music by accident, I was rapping to my boys and they were loving it, I was taking the piss back then just joking but it turned into the real deal.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

Polo G, Santan Dave and Stormzy.

3. What are some of the problems you have faced making and releasing the music during the corona virus pandemic?

To be honest we’ve just been in the Studio for must of the pandemic and we’ve been working. The only real issue is that there weren’t any shows for a while.

4. How would you describe your sound?

It’s a mixture of my heritage and my life.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

Probably my tune with KSI, he was a great guy to work with.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

Don’t Stop Working, Keep Going and get the right team beside you.

7. Are there any artists on your radar at the moment that we should check out

A92 all on the come up.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

Lil Durk & Lil Baby Voice of the streets is a classic.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

I’m probably playing football or watching football.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

Water, Sweets, A few Drinks.
