Lebeaux - Yours (Single)
Hailing from London is the incredibly talented and slept on artist Lebeaux. After taking a much needed hiatus after his first release in 2018 he is back with his latest single ‘Yours’. Someone who deserves all the flowers
‘Yours’ is a funk-led modern track its fun, playful, catchy and one to do that sassy walk to that has you feeling yourself. Beautiful vocals but gives a message that is honest and raw. A topic that not everyone would want to talk about and it’s very brave.
Speaking about the track and his lockdown journey Lebeaux says ‘This song is about Jealousy. I’m constantly jealous of others and their achievements. I've noticed that when people get jealous, it's often because we feel like we can’t get what they have, but we all must be aware that may not necessarily be the truth. Just because someone else may win a trophy; it doesn’t mean that there isn’t a trophy out there for all of us. I know mine is: I just have to work for it, like the people I'm jealous of probably had to – but that's the part of success we rarely get to witness’.
‘I've been working hard on trying to build up as much content as I can, so I don’t lose momentum. I’ve been also riddled with anxiety about releasing music. On social media especially, it’s so easy to compare yourself to other singers and writers and think “wow, who would wanna hear my shit!?”. But this project I’m working on is a big F U to that destructive way of thing. It’s time to do what I’m born to do!’
‘Song was produced by Macaq. Our recording relationship begun from a joke! I had posted a little jingle about covid last year and Macaq created a remix to it. For a laugh, we collaborated to make a video for the remix. His production was so great, I humbly asked him if he would be interested in working on some more stuff. I sent him ‘Yours’ that I was working on with another writer, I said “can you do your magic?” and the following couple days, he made ‘Yours’ sound so amazing. Yours is actually one of the many songs Lebeaux and Macaq have been working on during the entirety of 2020’s lockdowns’.
His journey is a testament to not letting the demons stop you from following your dreams. So I don’t know who is reading this right now but I feel compelled to write please keep going.
Lebeaux has had 3 Sold out shows across Brighton and London. Supported Tokio Mysers (winner of Britain’s Got Talent) at the Brighton Dome and Soul II Soul. His Sofar Sounds sessions of his original track ‘Daybreak’ has racked up a wopping 48k views.
