Planky ft: Harry Shotta & Carasel - Do My Ting (Single)

Rekkit Records is proud to present the latest release from UK producer, Planky. Following in the same funk-laden footsteps of his recent single, Soul Plane, this new track raises the levels even higher.

Those levels might best be explained by the background surrounding Do My Ting, a song which Planky originally made two years ago while awaiting the birth of his daughter in hospital, successfully focusing that nerve-racking anticipation into creating a summer banger.

The beat was spawned from his exploration of funk, the spirit of which is kept alive thanks to his sampling of Googie René’s jazz-funk bop, Smokey Joe’s La La. Flourishes of drums and flashes of piano permeate throughout, resulting in the perfect backdrop for Planky’s guests to get busy on.

On Do My Ting, Planky has drafted in two legends to assist, in a move that maintains the dynamic of his production. Rejoining proceedings is Harry Shotta, who also made an appearance on Soul Plane. His blistering flow is the perfect accompaniment to the track, as is the energy of his co-star, Carasel, who continues the high-octane vibe with his own devastating delivery.
