PREMIERE: Lolé Vietro - Somebody Like You (Official Video)
For her new single ‘Somebody Like You’, London RnB singer/songwriter Lolé Vietro has teamed up with BBE Music’s Maverick Quest. Channeling her Italian heritage and Quest’s Latin Jazz influences, the pair have delivered a Nova Soul inspired track which boasts some latin-flavoured instrumentation to underpin Lolé’s slick vocals and RnB delivery, as she cleverly layers her vocals to proclaim a message of self-love and self-discovery.
Growing up in London as a 3rd generation Italian, Lolé’s heritage is of utmost importance to her identity. After exploring Italian artists over the years, she wanted to represent this influence in this release. On the visual side, there is a beautifully mysterious music video directed by Jess Journo. As a director with a huge history in dance, there is a deep focus on choreography which explores and celebrates the power of divine femininity as Lolé is flanked by dancers who display a grace and confidence fitting for the track. The video also features cameos from her Mama and Nonna, which provides a cute nod to her roots and female power in her family. “During the scene at the table my mum and I held hands and this wave of energy seeped through us - it was so surreal.”
Choreographed by the talented Mikey Boats, (whose credits include J Balvin, Sinead Harnett & Arlo Parks), the video was styled by Natalie Wilkins who owns the clothing brand Mutzi, which is the iconic piece that Lolé is wearing during the video.
