Paleblu - Sentimental (Single)

Following the release of ‘Mayhem’ and its softer-edged sibling ‘Might Attach’ in 2021 - which saw airplay on both BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio London - Paleblu returns with his first solo track of 2022: Sentimental. The track has already gained pre-released support from Amelia Poamz at BBC Radio London and Jess Iszatt at BBC Introducing In London.

Sentimental opens with warm and rustic electric guitars accompanied by a hardcore amen break, opening up with the subtle yet memorable vocals. The progression later brings in the sounds of fierce bassline from Paleblu’s bassist Sam Glass and the twinkling sounds of a Moog. The lyrics theme swell around the idea of emotion and sentiment, values that are often brushed under the carpet growing up a man in the depths of East London. “Originally the track was about the themes of a failed love”, says the artist himself, “but the more and more I fleshed it out, the more and more I realised this was me having a conversation with myself”.

Continuing to blur lines between electronic and acoustic music remains a key aim for this young musician, and he takes pride in being able to perform his growing catalogue with a 4-piece live band.
