Loshh - akọle (EP)

London-based artist Loshh shares his sophomore 6-track EP akọle, out October 21 on all digital platforms via the Don’t Sleep imprint.

The enigmatic artist has recently completed a run of live dates supporting Obongjayar, bringing his infectious and passionate spirit to the stage in unique style. Debuting tracks from his forthcoming EP akọle, Loshh is on a path of self discovery as he sheds his former self on stage with a deeply assured confidence. One such track is the latest release ‘e’, another masterclass in soul, jazz and afrobeat fusion that heralds this young artist into public consciousness as one to watch. On the record, the artist states: “I always let the spirits flow through me when writing and recording. With this EP I had to learn to connect with the spirits in a different way, from spirit mind to pen instead of spirit to mic, it allowed me to explore a different side of myself.”

Receiving plaudits across the breadth of the media for his debut 7-track EP ‘Ifarada’ - with support from the likes of Pitchfork, The Face, Highsnobiety, Crack Magazine, Fader, The Guardian and Boiler Room to name a few - the extraordinary talent is back to reach more stratospheric heights with his follow-up EP ‘akọle’. Whilst Ifarada was a record full of smoky Latin-tinged, percussion-heavy tracks set against his powerful vocal delivery; akọle steps things up a gear with Loshh packing no punches with his high intensity and personal lyrics some of his best yet. “It’s been a rollercoaster journey of ups and downs since Ifarada. I had many ideas, my mind always felt like I had multiple tabs open” the artist cites of his constant creative conundrums. “It’s only been a year since I started making music and since I’ve had to navigate this world of music, I’ve had to learn to become patient with myself whilst allowing myself to be a sponge so I can grow and evolve.”
