Olistar - Bando Baby (Single)

Olistar, the moniker of Olisa Franklin Emodi, is a Nigerian musician and performer from Onitsha, Anambra State - and he’s offering a Drill sound like no other. Growing up watching his mother’s band perform combined with being raised on a healthy diet of Biggie Smalls, Bob Marley and Fela, his obsession with music was ignited. After dipping his toes into a few different elements of the Urban music umbrella, he found himself starting a Drill career. His first ever release titled ‘Umunwa,’ was released the same year, setting him off on his Drill music journey. He quickly followed it up with EP ‘What’s the Difference’ which built a fast growing drill community in Nigeria.

His latest track ‘Bando Baby’ was recorded in his home studio then taken to producer CROW for collaboration. Pulling from Afrobeat, Drill and Hip-Hop, the new track is inspired by Olistar’s growth from the streets in Onitsha, and he uses his craft to try and inspire every youth, no matter where they’re coming from.

Elaborating further on this, he shares: “Coming from my city Onitsha, Nigeria, I feel the need to advocate for the youths in the world because I got first hand hood life, and making it to this point I know a lot of youths need to see the light at the end of every tunnel and that will send a great wide wave of hope across the world.”
