Downtown Kayoto is the project of Zimbabwe born, Hull UK raised musician Chiko Chinyadza. He releases new single "In2you", the first new music to be heard since his widely praised 2021 EP 'NAVIG8'.

Having already received co-signs from Jessie Ware, Zane Lowe and Pharrell Williams as well as being named a BBC Radio 1 Future Artist, Downtown Kayoto has also recently supported acts including Tkay Maidza and Finn Askew and played coveted festival slots at Reading & Leeds and The Great Escape.

New single "In2you" was produced by Frankie Scoca (Dreamer Isioma, Lo Village) and finds Downtown on characteristically experimental form, merging sonic touch points from UK garage with lush, agile R&B.

Bursting with charisma, DK effortlessly moves between dexterous verses examining the cyclical nature of relationships: "You had to find another ego with a passion / I was in the past for a minute I was chillin' / Now you’re in my past, you’re so dramatic" before hitting the track's sky-reaching, cathartic choral refrain "I love you baby / But I’m through yeah".

Discussing the track's lyrical inspiration, he said: “‘In2you’ is a song about affection, love, crushes and everything in relationships. I wanted to talk about nuances in past situationships that I, and many other people have experienced too. At the end of the day this shit is hard. Dating is a nightmare and when you think you’ve found the one, there’s always this thing of "I like you but..." and "I want to be with you but…" but what? Right person wrong time? Past trauma? It’s not me it’s you? So I made this song in response to the emotional unavailability - 'l love you baby but I’m through'".
