Isabella Lovestory - Amor Hardcore (Album)

Following a rousing run of live shows including opening for Chelsea Manning at Brooklyn's Elsewhere, and a set at the This Ain't No Picnic festival in LA, Isabella Lovestory releases her new album Amor Hardcore. The album is Isabella's most poignant personal statement yet as an artist who refuses to be defined language and genre barriers. Amor Hardcore marks a further exploration of Isabella's psyche, unveiling dreams, nightmares and fantasies that most would shy away from, amidst a collage of reggaeton, experimental pop and industrial electronic rhythms that have come to define her vision for perreo-pop.

In her own words, "Amor Hardcore is a colourful neon rollercoaster. A journey exploring expressions of love full of contrasting lights, sounds and rhythms. The album is a luxurious hotel, where each floor is a different song. Amor is sweetness and Hardcore is aggression; beauty vs. pain, which combined to create this album. Sweet melodies fused with abrasive sounds. Lyrically each song has an obsessive yet carefree, dark, romantic theme. This album is a kiss that feels like a balloon popping at the same time a firework explodes, or a cherry bursting in your mouth. Amor Hardcore is my first full length album, where I experiment with and expand my sound with no limitations or rules."

The album pays homage to neoperreo contemporaries like Ms. Nina and highlights progressive new voices in Latin music, like Chucky73, MethMath, and SixSex, along with production for a bigger stage from longtime collaborator Chicken, Nick León (Rosalia's Motomami), Kamixlo and others. The album includes the previously-released singles "Exibisionista," "Cherry Bomb," "Fashion Freak" and "Sexo Amor Dinero.

Lovestory first unveiled the world of Amor Hardcore in a conversation with Interview Magazine, where she opened up about her work ethic, activities that help her unwind, and her reality. Last year, Lovestory shared the stand-alone singles "Tranki," co-produced with Chicken, Lecx Stacy, and Suicideyear, "Alo" and "Vuelta."
