Malika - Bless Her Soul (Official Video)

Redefining her sound to be the voice of UK soul, break-through singer-songwriter MALIKA continues her journey with her latest offering ‘Bless Her Soul’, followed by the release of the accompanying official music video.

With arms wide open, the track welcomes its listener into MALIKA’s new sound. Characterised by a warm sentiment cradling the narrative, MALIKA’s reassuring vocals further heighten the sincerity of her message, she explains; “‘Bless Her Soul’ is a hopeful and uplifting song about trusting the journey you are on, that the difficult times will pass and that you have the strength to get through any and everything. Although the song is called ‘Bless Her Soul’, I think the message of the song is something we all can relate to, especially coming out of the pandemic and with all the unrest we have around us.”

To enhance this message, MALIKA called upon the help of her closest counterparts; friends, family, even her dog Tootsie, to create a particularly moving music video, reminding why ‘soul’ music takes its title. Further explaining, MALIKA says; “A lot of my music is for women, women like me, and girls who are navigating life and becoming women. With this video, as the song is called 'Bless Her Soul' I thought it would be beautiful to have a video showing women of different age's, ethnicities and film them in their own spaces. I wanted people to watch the video and see themselves, their mother, sister, grandmother and I think we managed to do that beautifully.”
