Felish - Can I be sad too? (Single)
Releasing her new synth-pop and groove-ready RnB dance track is Afro-Swedish Singer, Songwriter and Performer Felish. It’s a funk-rich piece of alt-pop from one of Scandinavia’s most exciting new songwriters, returning from a hiatus to redevelop her sound.
Having started her music exploration in L.A in 2013, graduated from Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) and received the LACM Linda Perry Scholarship to help finish her studies, Felish’s futuristic indie-tropical electro style continues to develop and gain recognition from key industry figures.
Speaking on the new single, Felish states: “I was working with this new songwriting group and it was just on a day I was in kind of a sad mood, for reasons that were at first hard to nail down. But the beautiful thing was how we as this group began speaking really freely about just feeling sad, started expressing it , exchanging our feelings around it - and that is really how this song took shape and became this statement of : let me just be who I am in this moment, and let me feel my emotions without being forced to be something someone else wants or needs.”
She adds - “when I recorded the vocals for this song It made me feel so incredibly free in my own emotions ,this acceptance, the strength in being fragile ( cause it is fucking strong to stand by yourself in feelings that are not what everybody wants to see or hear!) and I hope that it will have that same effect on the people who hear it and hopefully start singing it too!! Be how you want to be, and cry when you wanna, it will make when you laugh that more heartfelt, cause you let yourself have your own emotions -feel them through and let them go!”
