Pook Hustle ft: Angela Star - C.R.E.A.M. (Single)

Pook Hustle has set out to showcase his unique and signature sound in his latest infectious offering ‘C.R.E.A.M.’ The single is a melting pot of hypnotising choruses and atmospheric verses. Heartwarming piano lines creating a colourful canvas of different melodies, whilst his vocals and bars land on top - softly penned but impactful and soaked in R&B and Pop sensibilities. Drums lay in the bottom, grooving whilst cutting through the mix and reverberating energy around the track.

Speaking further about the release, Pook Hustle reveals: “As an artist, I normally sit on beats for months but when “WhatsHisName” sent the instrumental for C.R.E.A.M., I instantly got to work. Well sort of. I couldn’t write sitting still so I decided to ride my bike to Downtown, Brooklyn and next thing I knew, the words just started flowing. The hook was so catchy and fun that I instantly knew I had to contact singer/comedian “Angela Star” to be a part of the record. It’s one of my favourite sessions to this day because it was so much fun and my normal “Hustleman” approach to recording became play.

I love creative writing so on “C.R.E.A.M.”, I used visualisation to take the listener on a journey into an experience at a strip club. Growing up I was a huge fan of Daft Punk so electronic/dance infused music has always been a part of my inspiration. Furthermore, in 2013 I was entering my freshman year of college and during my first basketball season I heard “Acid Rap” for the first time & was greatly inspired by the Chicago “juke” sound.
