Joda Kgosi - Sour Milk (EP)

Johannesburg R&B artiste; Joda Kgosi meshes raw emotions, tales of sad romance and profound storytelling on her debut E.P; Sour Milk. Across the seven song E.P, Joda Kgosi takes us through vulnerability and soul conversations right from the first song; Pity Party, right to the last song and lead track; I Miss You. In July 2021, Sour Milk won Apple Music’s award for the best release of the month.

I Miss You; the lead track explores raw emotions of a place we all have been at some point in our lives; a relationship that ended badly. Do we think the people that hurt us suck? Maybe. But does that make them bad people? Maybe not. On I Miss You, Joda Kgosi collectively infuses all our emotions and thoughts in balmy vocals and resonant rhythm, telling us that we’re humans, we feel the same pain, and we’re all alone in this together.

Joda Kgosi, who hails from the rape capital of the world, and is a strong women’s rights activist grapples with PCOS; a condition that affects 4-20% of women population in the world, has loved music even before she could speak; music runs in her blood. Since high school, she has been winning bountiful music awards, setting her on a strong path to greatness.

Joda Kgosi is in her second year studying Publishing at the prestigious Pretoria University, enjoys creating new food recipes, and dreams of owning a lipgloss line someday. Every holiday, she volunteers to teach children at church.

On her debut E.P; Sour Milk, Joda Kgosi brings on Malahia’s skill of weaving a little diary of love and relationships, and Jorja’s Smith’s talent of turning heartbreak into beauty, and power.
