Mumbai based music producer Zain Calcuttawala aka Bulli Bainbridge, a former music manager who in the past worked alongside artists such as T-Pain and Imogen Heap, re-emerges in 2022 with a debut album, ‘SEASONS’ which follows Bulli’s acclaimed EP release ‘Just This Once’ which released May 2017. ‘SEASONS’ see’s Bulli Bainbridge adapt progressively from his earlier music sound with an eight track collaboration project, recorded through the lockdown of 2021. Taking influence from R&B, rap and orchestral music particularly, each track features a different collaborator. The variation in vibes producer Bulli provides gives listeners a unique listening experience, whilst the vocalists express multiple moods which are certain to capture imaginations vividly.
A standout track from the album features Mumbai based artist Trichia Grace-Ann, who takes the lead for the second released single from the album, The Queen. Co-written by Trichia and partly Bulli, thematically The Queen serves to denounce misogyny and sexism which Trichia has personally experienced - making a strong stance by supporting feminism whilst urging self-respect and acceptance. Musically the single is catchy with a bouncy bassline which occasionally alternates its tempo, providing Trichia opportunity to demonstrate her abilities by blending intricate rap verses and captivating vocals for the hooks and chorus, exhibiting her artistry excellently.
‘SEASONS’ is due to be released in January 2023 with global distribution via ‘The Orchard,’ on the London based Bohemia Junction Recording Co., which releases ‘cross-genre music from India and around the globe’ and is the label imprint of Bohemia Junction Ltd founded by composer/producer Andrew T. Mackay.
