Wallfella ft: Odd Numbers - Step Back (Single)

Despite Covid’s gradual descent from public concern, the pandemic's aftermath is still very much current. In the latest track, Step Back, Wallfella and Odd Numbers present a thoughtful critique on the pandemic’s handling.  The single addresses the less obvious pandemics currently affecting the country: with comments on rising suicide rates; crippling austerity measures; and fear-mongering within the Irish news outlets.

Behind the track is a collaboration of talent: with dublin-based music producer and beat-maker, Odd Numbers teaming up with Northside Dublin City boy Wallfella -  a true spokesperson for the working class.

Outright lyrics such as “Take a hard look, you need to take a step back” calls for those who govern our politics to remove themselves from the sole focus of one problem and instead look at the larger issues at hand. Coupling Wallfella’s candid and non-apologetic approach to lyricism with the masterful production of  Odd Numbers confronts hard hitting political topics in a way that compels you to listen.

The single marks the second co-release between the producer and rapper, previously working together on the closing track of Odd Number’s collaborative debut album, ‘The Golden Éire Tapes Vol. 1’.
