GARRETT PAKNIS ft: Bushy - Rhythm (Official Video)

NYC born, London-based queer performance artist GARRETT PAKNIS returns with his brand new single, ‘RHYTHM. The track features London rapper Bushy, and is accompanied by a raw and gritty music video filmed on London’s iconic Leake Street graffiti tunnel.

‘RHYTHM’ yet again showcases GARRETT’s unique ability to transcend genres, tear down boundaries, break conventions and start conversations on a track that infuses his trademark spoken word, electronic beats and UK rap. Some might call it madness, but press play and see for yourself how perfectly their vocals compliment the others.

Speaking of the track, GARRETT says: “We hope to share the message of unity, and ‘togetherness’,  encouraging people to remember that we’re one global family.  I’m a white gay dude and Bushy is a straight black dude… and we wanted to give the “peace, love, and music” vibe in this track. We just wanted to make a universal feel good track - we’re getting out of winter, we’ve had a couple of tough years so this track is something for us all to dance to and “feel the rhythm in our heart beat and feet”... am I right?”

Naming SOFI TUKKER, Hercules & Love Affair and FKA Twigs as his biggest inspiration, GARRETT grew up in New York City abd has been “moaning poetry” into microphones since his teenage years, and brings a soulful energy to his house-infused dance music which contains raw and vulnerable yet conscious lyricism.
