Ego Ella May - Introvert Hotline (Single)

British -Nigerian songwriter and musician Ego Ella May unveils her first release of the year “Introvert Hotline”, the first glimpse of her upcoming EP “FIELDNOTES PT II”. The EP serves as a follow-up to her acclaimed 2021 EP “FIELDNOTES” which showed Ego Ella May expertly weave together the genres of R&B and Soul, with heavy influences from Jazz. “Introvert Hotline” displays everything that makes this artist great, with a well-crafted beat and bass parts to get you grooving, to cool and laid back vocals and lyricism, this will certainly get listeners excited for the next releases.

Speaking about ‘Introvert Hotline’, Ego Ella May explains “This is a song produced by Lvther, we wrote it the first day we met. He made this beat with the telephone ringing in the beginning, and so I wrote about how much I hate when my phone rings! Typical introvert. Meeting someone new is often hard for me because I have to explain early on that I don't really like phone calls, meaning I require a different means of communication”.

Ego Ella May has seen some impressive acclaim in the past few years, with her critically acclaimed album '“Honey For Wounds” winning 'Best Jazz Act' award at the 2020 MOBO Awards, as well as last year’s “FIELDNOTES” seeing her win 'Vocalist of the Year' at the Jazz FM Awards. Tracks from the album were also featured in the final season of Issa Rae’s ‘Insecure’, Oprah Winfrey’s OWN series ‘Queen Sugar’, BBC comedy ‘Dreaming Whilst Black’, STARZ’s Run The World’, Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’ and ‘Dear White People’, Channel 4’s ‘Big Age’ and many more.
