Following the release of ‘Blackberry’, which gained the attention of many, newcomer Ty Leone returns with brand new single ‘Shoot For The Stars’ is an ode to all the hustlers coming from the ground up heading for the stars. The visual, which was shot in Milan, Italy captures Ty in his element and proves him as an artist on the rise, not set to slow down.
“Shoot For The Stars is all about perseverance, giving your goals and dreams everything you have. It means looking your demons in the eyes and speaking to them rather than pushing it to the side. S4TS means the world is yours, take it!” says Ty Leone.
Raised in Newham – home to UK greats like Crazy Titch, J Hus and Newham Generals, Ty Leone is the next hot prospect out of East London seeking to expand his horizons and has ambitions to reach a level passing those who have come before. Ty Leone stands out from others through his versatility. Undefined by genre boundaries, the rapper flirts between drill, UK Afrobeats and Hip-Hop.
Ty Leone sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1.So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
Naturally started gaining interest from the culture I was brought up in, what my family was playing, what my friends were playing. I gained a lot of passion for it and now it’s the only thing I want to do. I feel like it’s my purpose.
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
J hus, Dave, 50 Cent all influence me. For features, I keep that in my head till energies align.
3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?
My debut EP and single Shmurda dropping in April. Watch out for that one it’s crazy.
4. How would you describe your sound?
Euphoric. The future of UK sound.
5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
Finding my team, we understand each other and all are striving for the same greatness. From producers, managers, everyone is on the same wave length.
6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?
Stay dedicated, no matter what life throws at you. Never stop for anything or anyone until you get where you need to be. Show gratitude and stay grounded.
7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?
TS Lagga and AntsLive are loading up crazy. Watch out for them.
