Maxine Scott - Erykah U Bad (EP)

Ramrock Blue Records introduce a new soul talent to the label, Maxine Scott, with her seductively soulful ‘Eryka U Bad EP’. With the original version already voted as BBC Radio Kent’s ‘Fresh Find’ by Dominic King in December 2021, Maxine’s beautifully evocative composition blends a hybrid of ‘90s inspired R&B, soul, and Nujazz flavas. Her soft, speak-easy vocals combined with her honeyed, scrapbook-style production compliments her quirky ‘90s pop aesthetic. The level of maturity in her lyrical content belies her 22 years. The North Street West team take the track and add layers of stripped back jazz chords courtesy of Darren Morris, drum programming by Ashley Beedle and vocal arrangement by Jo Wallace. Rounding off the package is a tougher ‘Hip Hop’ version of the song, completing Maxine’s fabulous debut Ramrock Blue release.

Maxine Scott is an up and coming singer / songwriter of Russian-British heritage. A fresh talent on the scene, Maxine’s talents were quickly picked up by ADR and she provided the vocals on their ‘Back to Dance’ release, which notched up four weeks play on Danny Howard’s BBCR 1’s ‘Dance Party’ show. The single reached No.1 on Beatport’s Dance charts, as well as a breaking tune on iTunes Dance/House charts, with support from Jamie Jones, Gorgon City, Solardo and Marco Carola. Releases in 2022 for Maxine include a Jazz influenced EP collaboration with producer Alf.E, plus another big dance track with ADR, and she’ll also be featuring on a solo track as part of the legendary Black Science Orchestra’s 30th Anniversary project!
