Tommy Moom$ - Snowcaps (Official Video)

Melbourne-based artist Tommy Moom$ releases emotive debut solo single “Snowcaps”, the track is self produced and was mixed and mastered by Good Mood studios Melbourne. Inspired by a combination of hardcore music and hip hop Moom$ draws influences from a range of different musical artists including Frank Ocean, Lil Peep and Loyle Carner.

Snow Caps begins with a hypnotic guitar riff before a steady hi hat pattern underlaid with a booming 808 kick that you feel through your whole body. A feeling of emotion is sustained once Tommy comes in with his haunting yet captivating vocal lines that forges a seamless connection between emo and trap genres, whilst definitely carving out a lane of his own. Clever storytelling paints a vivid image in your mind’s eye, as a nice melody that dances above a melancholic yet exciting guitar riff.

With fresh 90s style visuals from collaborator Zac Harris, Tommy Moom$ is shrouded in mystery and the accompanying video for Snow Caps really introduces the listener to the artists story. A blend of style, fashion and emotion is conveyed in the 3 minute video.

Tommy Moom$ talk about the meaning behind “Snowcaps”‘I’ve had this snow caps line keep coming back into my head and finding its way into my rhymes over the past couple years. It's related to that image of snow on the peak of mountains. It makes me think of the road trips I’ve been on around the world. The thought of being on the road has made me feel alive during these times where it's been impossible to go anywhere. This tracks about turning to yourself for support’ .
