Stella Talpo - Water (Single)

London based artist Stella Talpo today announces her new EP ‘FINE’ and its lead single "Water". The new EP follows Talpo's 2020 EP 'first burn' and debut EP 'SPACE'.

Born in a small town outside Milan, and raised in Singapore, Stella Talpo has wanderlust woven into her bones. Influenced by a wide range of artists from Billie Holiday to Nirvana, she gracefully traverses genres, with her poignant lyrics addressing themes from addiction and human behaviour to politics.

New single "Water" oozes with vibrancy and soul, specifically examining the allure of indulging in self destructive behaviour, as she poses the question: "Is my fuel my addiction / or my addiction my fuel?"

"Water is about how enticing self-sabotage can be," Stella explains. "Playfully and knowingly giving into the compulsive behaviours that are actually self-destructive but gratifying and not knowing you’ve gone too far until it’s too late."

Produced and mixed by jazz/electronic producer Lewis Moody, Stella commented on the recording process of "Water" and the upcoming 'FINE' EP: "I’ve been collaborating with a new producer, Lewis Moody, who started in jazz and has since just devoured pop, soul and electronic music to make his own amazing thing. He really helped me come out of my shell and realise that I wanted to make music that energised people. I wanted to feel alive playing live and I wanted listeners to feel it too and Lewis was pivotal in helping me find out how that looked (sounded rather) like for me."
