Hailing from Catford, rising wave drill rapper Ghostface600 has steadily been making a name for himself in the underground scene.

Today he shares the melodically hazy new cut, ‘Super Freak’ produced by PALE1080, and accompanied by a video from the acclaimed directing duo Meeks & Frost [Pa Salieu, Headie One].

Ghostface600 says, “Super Freak is one to remember - an impactful, jumpy, wavy song I've been sitting on and perfecting for over a year. In this video I wanted to portray the story of searching for my 'Super Freak', and along the way of searching this mystery woman, I encounter a few different scenarios and groups of characters on the way.”

His unconventional blend of raw lyricism and refined beat-laced melodies has earned him a global fanbase, and praise from tastemakers such as GRM Daily, where he’s amassed eight million views on his videos, Mixtape Madness, Viper Magazine, LinkupTV, NUPRINT Mag and many more. There’s been also great support across radio where he gained fans such as Kenny Allstar & DJ Target and plays across Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1xtra, and Capital Xtra.

Ghostface600 has been penning lyrics since his early teens when he was just hanging out with his south London crew, however it was in 2019 that he really made strides in the industry. Inspired by Lil Durk’s ‘Preaacherman’ documentary, the self-taught Ghost decided to dive into the making music process, experimenting with different instrumental styles and honing his production skills.

Ghostface600 sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

I think artists who have fan bases as great as someone like Travis Scott influence me, and I would deffo want to work with Aboogie, Durk & like Don Toliver.

3. The new single Super Freak is out and is a banger, can you tell us about the idea behind the track?
The idea has to somewhat stay a secret but it’s deffo a real life situation, a song I’ve been sitting on and perfecting for over a year.

4. How would you describe your sound?
Different to anything the UK has seen before, when you listen to me you wouldn’t even know I’m from the UK.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
I don’t have any yet because I’m not even 25%  in, check back with me in a year’s time.

Weed, weed & weed.
